Dores Beach

Dores Beach And The Dores Inn

A pebble beach stretching from the village of Dores and and the Dores Inn across to Torr Point. Has some of the most iconic views down Loch Ness.

A series of walks from the village of Inverfarigaig up into the hills above Loch Ness.

The River Foyers out to Loch Ness

South Loch Ness Trail
The South Loch Ness Trail is a path all the way up the south side of Loch ness, from Loch tarff, just above Fort Augutusus in the South, to Dores in the north.

Capital of the Highlands with something for everyone, just 8 miles from Pottery House B and B.

Loch Ruthven
An RSPB reserve with Slavonian Greebes and a beautiful drive between there and Dores.

Chanonry Point And The Moray Firth Dolphins
Reputed to be the best place in the UK to see Bottle-Nosed Dolphins.

Fairy Glen Nature Reserve
An RSPB Nature reserve and a beautiful walk following a stream through a woodland Glen.

Fort Augustus And The Caledonian Canal

Town at the bottom end of Loch Ness. Lovely town with The Caledonian Canal Lochs, shops, cafes and restaurants.

Findhorn Bay
Lovely bay and beach to spend a sunny afternoon.

Loch Garten and Abernethy Forest
Famous Osprey Centre often featured on BBC Spring Watch.

Rogie Falls
Beautiful falls surrounded by lots of woodland walks.

The Steam railway made famous by the Harry Pottery films runs from Fort William to Malaig daily and is an easy day-trip from Pottery House.

Ullapool Harbour And The Corrieshallock Gorge
Very pleasant drive and day out through some beautiful scenery
Glen Nevis

Glen Nevis
An amazing Glen round the far side of Ben Nevis.

Pretty seaside village on the west coast. Amazing road to Applecross, great Inn for seafood and great views across the sea to Skye.
