Local Wildlife

Red Deer

Deer can often been seen in the woods around us, more especially in the winter months when the cold forces them down from their higher grazing.

Primroses

In the Spring the local woods and hills are covered with these.

Bumble Bee and Thistle

The bees seemed to love the thistles we planted in the garden.

Siskins

These siskens had just fledged when we saw them on our bird table

Speckled Wood Butterfly

These butterflies seemed frequent visitors to our garden during last summer.

Arctic Fox

This photo was taken at the Highland Wildlife park near Newtonmore

Pine Marten

Sometimes seen in the garden and around Pottery House, usually at dusk.
